Erle Copter landing gear
thingiverse
I recently picked up an Erle Copter drone and upon assembly I discovered that the legs wouldn't touch the ground, so I had to come up with a solution to mount my camera underneath. I could've just bought new legs from Erle's website, but where's the fun in that? Instead, I designed the legs in three parts: The base plate attaches with velcro and is secured with zip ties on my model, making it easy to remove and giving me a platform to attach my GoPro. The legs are pretty self-explanatory; they were printed vertically with some support, as shown in the photos, while the other parts were simply printed flat on the bed. And then there are the skids; I tried to position them so they wouldn't get in the way of the GoPro's field of view. If you want to use the wide FOV of your camera, you might need to do some tweaking. All the parts fit together easily, and I used hot glue to secure them - it's not the most stylish solution, but it works amazingly well. If you decide to print this design, don't forget to mirror the skids, as the file only includes one side. As a bonus, I included some photos of my DIY GoPro antivibration mount, which uses earplugs to dampen vibrations and works incredibly well! Print Settings: Printer: BQ Hephetsos 2
