**Important**: Please note: (1) A small piece of diffraction grating, typically education grade and available on Amazon, is used in the spectrometer which isn't depicted in the 3D model. It's placed beneath the viewing hole on the top panel. (2) Development of a newer model (A1) is currently underway, with substantial modification to the light source taking place. The newer model is expected to boast a significantly higher signal-to-noise ratio. This is an open-source spectrophotometer called ErieOpenSpec (current version v10). Components include: (1) A 3D-printed sample holder where an LED plate is installed, along with a 3D-printed slit; (2) Two laser-cut Acrylic sidewalls; (3) A laser-cut Acrylic top panel where the diffraction grating is installed; (4) A laser-cut Acrylic mirror plate where a 1" mirror is installed; (5) A laser-cut Acrylic background plate; (6) A battery pack to power the LED plate; (7) A cover to block ambient light.
