ErgoPencil V.3 for sculptors
thingiverse
ErgoPencil v.3 is an ergonomic tool designed for sculpting, devastating areas or texturing. This tool features an ergonomic pencil with multiple grip positions for optimal comfort during use. The Ergopencil v.3 is printed using a geeetech A30 large format 3D printer with a 0.4 mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.2 mm. The tool's tip is composed of two parts: the outer piece, which fits snugly into the pencil for added grip, and the inner piece, responsible for holding a stainless steel cable. The stainless steel cable ranges in diameter from 0.3 mm to 0.6 mm and is printed without supports at a layer height of 0.1 mm for maximum strength. Once placed, it's recommended to apply a drop of cyanoacrylate to secure the cable in place. In addition to the stainless steel cable, Ergopencil v.3 features a neodymium magnet that fits into a hole on the tool's lower part. A second magnet must be attached to the pencil, ensuring proper alignment. To assemble the tool, begin by cutting a piece of wire and folding it in half to create the desired shape. Introduce the folded wire into the lid, cut excess material, remove and bend the tips approximately 1 mm. Next, reintroduce the wire and secure it with a small piece using pliers and a piece of wood. Finally, apply a drop of cyanoacrylate to fix the wire in place. Note: The author is currently developing an alternative method for securing the tip to the pencil and plans to update the design soon.
