Ergonomic Wedge for Thumb-Style Trackballs
thingiverse
This all began with a thread on Reddit where someone had attempted to identify a trackball that an editor was using in a screenshot. It turned out to be a standard Logitech m570 on a wedge. After some discussion, someone suggested it could easily be 3D printed, so I took that as an opportunity to teach myself how to design and 3D print objects. The latest design, the MkⅦ, is currently considered the "final" version. At 25% Cubic Infill, it is quite stiff and very stable, but needs some kind of grippy surface applied to the feet. 0.5" rubber feet should be easily sourced. Given the strength and stability of the design, you may be able to get away with only 10% infill, and use a different pattern. The other versions are included to establish a continuity of my design history as I learned it, and are provided in case anyone is interested in playing around with those designs.
