Ergonomic Stand for Macbook (Laptop) CNC/Cutting Tool-Path
thingiverse
I designed a simple stand to hold my MacBook Pro at eye-level for extended making and programming sessions outside, where I do my best work. This project was also an opportunity to hone my sketching skills. The goal was to create a compact stand that could be cut out with one pass, using a single tool-path. In this approach, the cutting bit would often work on two pieces simultaneously, thereby saving material and CNC time. Instructions: Fusion 360 mill plan (G-code) is available upon request. The main body of the stand is crafted from 3/4" stock - bamboo in my case. Its shape allows it to functionally elevate a MacBook (or any laptop) to eye-level while providing stability for occasional direct keyboard use, even when standing in a kitchen situation. Cross brace securing is done using wood screws and small washers. The cross brace itself is cut from the same 3/4" stock.
