Ergonomic Ice Scraper
thingiverse
This awesome ice scraper is my answer to the absurd amounts of snow and ice in the northeast United States. Print it at any scale to fit your hand perfectly. As sized, it will fit neatly into a glove box. It comes in five pieces: blade, backstrap, handle (in two halves), and cover (to lock the front together). I've included a transparent render to show how it is assembled. I've also added 3.5mm holes in the handle. You can use these holes for plastic or metal spacers to assemble the handle (though they are not necessary). I've also added photos of the partially assembled and fully assembled parts! Instructions First, print the two halves of the handle. Assemble the handle by using metal or plastic spacers for alignment in the 3.5mm holes. Glue the halves together. Print the blade. Lock the blade onto the tongue using the printed pins on the handle. I recommend gluing this part with a fast-drying adhesive. Print the backstrap. This is pressed into the handle and will lock the inner pins into place. Print the blade cover. This covers the mounting pins on the tongue and can be glued permanently into place. You may want to trim, sand, or adjust the cover as needed for your printer and materials. It should be a tight fit.
