Ergonomic guitar pick
thingiverse
I wanted to craft an ergonomic guitar pick that would be a perfect fit for musicians who value comfort and precision. My go-to picks are always the Stubby Jazz or Jazz III models, and I'm always on the lookout for innovative designs that can take my playing experience to the next level. With 3D printing technology at my fingertips, I didn't need to worry about precise measurements - just rapid prototyping with minimal hassle. Each pick takes around five minutes to print, making it an incredibly efficient process. I started by experimenting with a random bezier shape and iterated on the design seven times until I landed on a shape that felt truly ergonomic to me. While it may suit my playing style, I hope others will find it comfortable as well. This project is remarkably easy to design and print, making it an ideal introduction to 3D printing for beginners or a great way to hone your skills if you're already familiar with the process. I've had the opportunity to share these picks with live band players, who have generally found them comfortable and effective for picking, but slightly too short for strumming.
