As an aside, while I don't have a personal stake in modifying the grip for other versions of the 3DS/DS, it's not entirely out of the question if there's enough interest. So please let me know. The initial version of my ergonomic grip for the original 3DS is identical to the one I posted on thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2284483. I've continued to refine the original since its initial release and have an updated version in development that addresses several drawbacks. However, this new version won't be available at no cost. Thingiverse description: Another ergonomic grip for the least popular handheld iteration... I'm extremely satisfied with this one; it's far simpler and more refined than my previous design for Vita. No retention piece or anything similar is included; instead, it relies solely on friction to keep it in place. The only covered feature is the SD-slot, but that shouldn't be a concern. I used superglue to assemble the pieces together and adhesive pads for added friction. I highly recommend water sanding with grits 120 and 240 for optimal results.
