Ergonomic and Portable Tablet/Notebook Stand with an Attachable Organizer
thingiverse
I have designed an ergonomic, portable stand that doubles for tablets and notebooks, you can adjust the height and angle of which the stand and board is levelled for comfortability and convenience. You can prop this up next to your monitor as an intuitive way to write or design, similar to an architect's or animator's workbench, or just have a 2nd screen put up. The angled board/panel can help create better posture for the user as it the angle makes the user sit more vertically instead of being hunched-over which I know many have issues with as well. The 2nd smaller, additional design is simply an organizational setup with holders and slots for several pencils, styluses, papers, scissors, etc. it can easily attach to the main larger design via a slot, just like a tight puzzle piece. "What issues did you come up against?" Figuring out a design that was both portable, and easily adjustable took some thought and experimenting to figure out how I could design it. I didn't simply just want to make a simple organizer as I thought that has been done many time to similar designs. I considered many ideas in trying to make an adjustable board that were either too complex and bulky, or not strong enough. I managed to come up with the design after looking at an expandable coffee table I have in my house with legs that function like the one's on my design board/stand, attached at the top, but adjustable at the bottom with slots. "If you could redesign this again what would you change?" I would a more features to the Tablet/Notebook stand to simply improve it's goal of making work comfortable and intuitive. Perhaps a small light bulb on the top, a holder or pocket for pencils, a sharpener on the side. Many helpful tools could be added to make this a very appealing, and ergonomic design. "How would 3D printing help strengthen your design? How would 3D printing help strengthen your design?" 3D printing allows for very detailed and intricate pieces and parts which have to be very specific in order to fit together. My design requires rather specific measurements to be put together cleanly so being able to print instead of cut by hand could be very efficient. Especially since when designing I managed to scale up the models to realistic proportions. In addition I want my design to be portable, something a student could move around their house with ease, and with the lighter material being used in 3D printing that could greatly help.
