Ergodox EZ tent kit
thingiverse
This is a custom keyboard tent design for the ergodox ez keyboard. I needed more angle with the keyboard than the standard tent kit provides, so I designed this custom solution. It's loosely based on the Freestyle2 ascent keyboard tent kit, but I made changes to make it easier to print. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Notes: The base parts and stands can be printed in 0.3 mm, but I had issues with the hinges when printing the keyboard mounts at that resolution. I stuck with 0.2 mm to ensure a smooth print. Post-Printing Issues Keyboard moves/slides while typing: I've encountered some problems with the tent kit sliding on my desk due to its smooth surface. To keep it in place, I applied double-sided tape under the bottom plates. This solution works for me when using an XTrackPad, but your results may vary depending on your desk's surface. Hinge pieces don't fit: I printed two sets of hinge pins (1.75mm and 1.25mm), as the resolution you print your other parts can affect their fit. If necessary, file the hinges or cut off excess pin length to prevent them from sticking out. Applying a dab of hot glue to keep the pin in place is also an option, but I haven't had any issues yet.
