ER25 collet block
thingiverse
Look, you aren't going to use this for machining, and in many ways, this was a test of creating something from scratch using a blueprint, plus I obviously couldn't achieve the desired surface roughness.\r\n\r\nSo what's it good for?\r\nI had an 8mm brass tube that needed threading with a die, but I couldn't keep it secure in a vise without risking damage or crushing it due to spinning.\r\nSo, I did what any rational person would do - I spent the next day modeling and testing an er25 collet block. Does it work? No, I suspected it wouldn't since plastic isn't strong enough for such tight grip requirements.
