ER16 Collet Box

ER16 collets offer an efficient toolholding solution for compact milling machines like the Taig, but maintaining their organization can be challenging. I found my previous method of storing them in a disorganized pile on the workbench to be insufficient. Notably, there are no commercially available caddies or organizers specifically designed for ER16 collets. To address this issue, I designed a simple box in SolidWorks that can hold 15 collets and has a corresponding lid with a matching key. My initial plan was to integrate hinges into the design, but due to time constraints, I opted for the smallest hinges available at my local home improvement store. However, hinges are optional as the lid securely fits the box through hemispherical bumps.
