Equilibrium Mk1 3-D Printable Electric Violin for Large-Scale Printer
thingiverse
I am a cellist, not a violinist. Any misunderstandings may have arisen from my incorrect title. Please point out any mistakes made in this design so I can improve it. This is an early draft and I'm working on a larger electric cello project. I designed this violin after seeing many other designs that were too complicated or oversimplified, and some of them just looked ugly to me. Many required supports, which wasted filament and annoyed me. This design does not need any supports at all. You will need a large build volume to print this violin, as I'm using a CR-10 with 300/300/400 build volume. The bridge design is included now that I've added it back in. I created a lattice-based bridge so it can vibrate more than a solid one. You'll also need the pickup and amp items below: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000B6DHAS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078N94QTH/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You'll need a cable between the two items. I had one lying around, and I think this will work: https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-GTR-205R-Straight-Right-Angle-Guitar/dp/B0018R6AGM/ref=pd_bxgy_267_img_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0018R6AGM&pd_rd_r=REYV9QF48GK7CDJ8VSSR&pd_rd_w=r1tcj&pd_rd_wg=iKKQr&psc=1&refRID=REYV9QF48GK7CDJ8VSSR&dpID=41LCy54bsjL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=detail I'm currently working on a mount for the pickup jack, which will be printed in TPU. Please read the print/post processing information for further details. This is just an early draft and I intend to improve upon it. Any feedback or comments would help me do that.
