Original HR model (6.8M tris) captured by Artec 3D, showcased on sketchfab with a significantly reduced polygon count of 200k tris. Process The initial mesh was refined using Meshlab's quadric edge collapse decimation and mmgs, resulting in an intermediate object with a substantial reduction in tris from 6.8M to 950k. Critical details such as ropes and the sword were expertly separated from the horse body by applying mark sharp edges, followed by edge split and separate operations, yielding improved results. The resultant meshes (totaling 70k tris) underwent meticulous manual unwrapping, incorporating manifold edges seams for a seamless finish. These individual components were then merged to form a cohesive whole. Material A custom material was crafted from scratch on the high-resolution object before being baked onto 2K textures, resulting in three distinct finishes: Bronze patina adorns the top surface. A mix of metals provides a rich texture across the body. Smoother metal finishes off the edges with elegance.
