EQ6 Cap for Polar Scope Removal
thingiverse
This will hopefully be useful for anyone that doesn't use the Polar Scope on their Skywatcher EQ6 mount and is sick and tired of hitting their hand against the end cap when adjusting polar alignment! I polar align using a N.I.N.A. plug-in which shows me on-screen in real time where to adjust, so the Polar Scope isn't needed. The same is true for anyone using a Polemaster (which blocks the other end of the Polar Scope hole anyway!) or SharpCap or PHD2 or any other computerised solution for Polar alignment. To fit this, you need to: 1. Remove existing polar scope cover 2. Unscrew the polar scope (I suggest a rubber strap wrench to loosen) 3. Unscrew the three screws in the polar scope index wring and remove it 4. Use the same screws to screw this replacement cap in place
