A sturdy dovetail for the EQ5 mount type, made to last with 1/4" screws that hold tight along a solid 3" slot. Printing it upside down eliminates the need for extra supports. I chose PLA for its remarkable rigidity and strength. To ensure smooth screw insertion and prevent cracks from forming, a thin metal layer on the screw mount side is a wise addition. For my test, I paired this dovetail with a solar scope weighing 8.8 pounds (4 kg), and it proved to be stable and resistant to bending. The only thing missing was some action on the Sun – no spots to observe today, unfortunately.
