The Eppendorf Hexagonal Case securely holds up to four 2ml Eppendorf tubes or, as a workaround, 1.5ml ones too. This particular setup was specifically designed for arranging the tubes horizontally on a shaker unit. If preferred, it's still feasible to have the tubes at a vertical position as well. For optimal performance and to prevent the tubes from popping out of the slots within the holder, this hexagonal case needs to be positioned inside that square container which is otherwise firmly taped to the shaking mechanism. The result will indeed simplify tube removal when necessary without having to redo the taping job altogether.
