Epigrafe di Marco Appuleio (Trento)
sketchfab
Epitaph of Marcus Appuleius, inscribed in the church of Saint Apollinare (Trento).\nThe text represents the oldest written document related to Rome's presence in Trento and recalls an important work ordered and funded by Augustus.\nBased on Augustus' offices listed on the epitaph, it is possible to date the artifact between June 26th, 23 BC and June 30th, 22 BC.\nThe extreme conciseness of the text prevents establishing the nature of the intervention.\nA copy of the artifact is visible in the Archaeological Underground Space of Sass (Trento, Piazza Cesare Battisti) where a vast area of Roman Tridentum has been brought to light.
