Epidote is a silicate mineral found in regionally metamorphosed rocks of moderate grade. In these rocks, it's often associated with amphiboles, feldspars, quartz, and chlorite. It occurs as replacement minerals that have been altered by intense heat and pressure. Frequent epidote finds occur in veins cutting through granite. It appears as monoclinic crystals within pegmatites, massive forms, and marbles and schists formed or altered through contact metamorphism. Epidote colors range from yellowish green to pistachio green. Less often it's brownish green to black due to varying levels of iron content. Massive epidote is usually translucent with a glassy luster. Well-formed crystals in marble and pegmatite are often transparent, showcasing the mineral's vibrant color. https://geology.com/minerals/epidote.shtml https://www.mindat.org/min-1389.htm
