Epic Scale - Enhanced Humans - Medium Air Transport - Adv
thingiverse
This is a rebuilt Thunderhawk Gunship for Epic Armageddon. It's based on several sources: - Miffles_Makes: Much of the basic shape comes from this model, which looks like a scan of the original GW version based on its surface. I ran all the pieces through Windows 3D Builder and reduced surfaces significantly as a first step. I have a couple of these in metal, but they're too small. - Hendar23 - Model ID 2928223 (pic of red Thawk): This remake inspired some design ideas, unfortunately the model isn't available on Thingiverse anymore, but I found the ID on a link in a blog and have a copy of the STLs on my PC. The battle cannon is a mashup from this model. - ForgeWorld (pics) - The size and blockiness of the ForgeWorld model was used in redesigning this model, with flatter wings, more basic shapes, fewer curves, less integrated bolters, and fewer chunky aquilas. Where the aquilas were is now flat plains which is intentional so you can paint a chapter icon there or whatever. I prefer the size of the ForgeWorld model as well. - The heavy bolters were taken from the Stormbird and simplified. Anyway, I extruded and built-by-line over the last couple of weeks and came up with this. The intention is to print a couple for my new army, which is now done. I'll also print up the DeathLegion Stormbird as the army is air assault centric. I'm liking the scale of this model to the Stormbird without any scaling. Additionally, I now have a resin printer, so it's actually worth adding some extra details to surfaces and so on. [20190722] The individual files have now been added. I've test printed them and they all ran through the Photon Slicer software just fine. They printed okay, except my print technique is still fairly primitive on the Photon - didn't do the files justice really. WARNING: Some of the components (landing gear - both) seem to be 10x the proper size. I've run this through Windows 3D Builder and rescaled but they're just not holding the values. Just resize them in your slicer.
