One of the most critical steps to reloading is making sure that your cases are trimmed to a consistent length for proper function. Plenty of ways to skin this particular cat, but how many of them can you 3d print?

Yeah, i dont know either, but you can print this one! Mostly anyways. You can also make one for any cartridge you want, so long as you have a CIP datasheet for it, with just a few clicks. Just import the .f3d file into Fusion 360, open the parameter tab, change the handy dandy parameters to match the measurements of the same name on the CIP datasheet, and youre off to the races, ready to get trimming

You will need some extra hardware to complete this trimmer, so it isnt all 3d printed (unless you have a metal SLS printer or something). Hardware is as follows:

One bearing, code S3PPG4/C3: https://www.grainger.com/product/TRITAN-Miniature-Ball-Bearing-Sealed-49DE15

One end mill, 3/8" in diameter with as short a cutting edge you can find. If the flutes are longer than about 7/8", it may not work. Something like this should do you fine: https://www.amazon.com/YG1-Carbide-Length-Degree-Alu-Power/dp/B086RWS46B/ref=sr_1_6?crid=16ZQQ72P52WGP&keywords=3%2F8+stub+end+mill&qid=1660638571&sprefix=3%2F8+stub+end+mill%2Caps%2C88&sr=8-6

6 4-40 socket head cap screws, 3/16" long

And thats pretty much it for the hardware side. Tools needed to build are pretty simple as well, youll need an allen key the proper size for the bearing set screw and the 4-40 screws, and probably a 4-40 thread tap to clean up the threaded holes for the bearing retainer screws

Included in this upload are the Fusion design file to created your own bodies, as well as pre-generated bodies for the 6.5 creedmoor and 223 remington cartridges, along with the bearing retainer plate

This is a work in progress, and is untested as of 08/16/2022. That said, the design itself isnt all too dissimilar to something like the Worlds Cheapest Trimmer or Worlds Finest Trimmer, its just 3d printed, so full confidence that itll work fine.

Happy printing!
