Epax X1 vat covers and resting tray

This is a set of lids, bottoms, and resting trays designed specifically for the Epax X1 resin printer. The top lid is intended to be used when the vat is inside the printer, featuring cutouts on the sides that perfectly accommodate the X1 hold down brackets. The top cover boasts a light-safe design, making it ideal for covering the vat during cleaning procedures within the printer. This thoughtful addition ensures that the printing process remains uninterrupted and safe from ambient light exposure. One of the models is a protective bottom designed to shield the vat from debris and ambient light. The center of this model is recessed, preventing any contact with the FEP or nFEP. This innovative design allows for seamless operation without compromising print quality. The "no bottom" tray serves as a convenient solution for temporarily storing the vat, providing an opportunity to test its fit without committing to the full covers. It's also a great way to gauge whether adjustments are needed based on your printer setup. Tight versions of these trays fit snugly, requiring a small amount of sanding and wear-and-tear before they settle into place like a Tupperware lid. These will hold their position for extended periods, making them suitable for long-term applications. Loose versions, on the other hand, are 1mm longer and wider, allowing for effortless placement and removal. Printing the loose tray first is recommended as it serves as an invaluable accessory in your work area. It should fit without any issues, giving you a clear indication of whether you need a tighter-fitting cover or require adjustments to the design based on your printer setup. Next, print the interior lid with bracket cutouts. This model is built upon the loose fit design and is perfect for covering the vat both inside and outside the printer during temporary cleaning procedures. By following this sequence, you'll gain a clear understanding of your needs and preferences. To start, print the lids at .25mm layer thickness, 20% fill, with no support required. The lettering recess can be bridged without any difficulties. When printing the lid models, simply rotate them 180 degrees. I've left them rotated top up for easy viewing of the logo. The other models are ready to print as is. The accompanying pictures demonstrate each component: Picture 1 showcases the vat cover/lid, while Picture 2 displays its reverse side. Picture 3 features the "no bottom" bottom tray, and Pictures 4 and 5 highlight the interior cover. *Updated on July 30th, 2019, with an added STL file for the interior vat cover.*
