Eotech 552 Battery Case
thingiverse
This is a customized battery case replacement for Eotech 552 models. I've created three designs, all of which fit well. In the battery compartment, there are extra hollow holes for inserting springs according to your preference. Personally, I used folded paper strips as makeshift springs. Print Settings Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2 mm Notes: It's recommended to use a raft or brim and supports, but they are optional. This ensures the outer plastic remains in shape. Custom Section Battery Spring Installation To achieve a springy battery case, fold multiple small paper strips and use tweezers to align them flat against the end of the case. Place several folded paper strips on top of each other and repeatedly test the inserted battery for optimal fit. The goal is to have the battery flush with the case while providing noticeable spring feedback through the paper. Next, carefully press the battery to gauge springiness, aiming for the battery to be level with the thicker inner case as it would be in the original design. Once satisfied with spring performance, remove one folded paper strip and wrap a 22-24 gauge single-core wire around the remaining papers, skinning roughly 10-20 cm of material. Wrap the remaining half with more wire until coverage is adequate. Then, carefully align the wrapped papers using tweezers, testing connectivity with your scope. If the scope powers on upon testing, apply UHU multi-purpose glue to the exposed wire bridge in the battery case and let it dry completely before finalizing installation.
