Eon - SCARA Printer
thingiverse
This is my second iteration of a mostly printed SCARA printer. Not all parts have been designed yet, however this is as far as I am in the process of building it. This project is very much ongoing and will continue to evolve as the build progresses. As new components are added or modified, this post will be updated with those changes. At present, this serves as a platform for sharing the work that has been completed so far with the community. A major revision is currently underway, and numerous significant issues that have been encountered will likely be addressed in the process. With 250mm distal and proximal arms, the theoretical build volume right now stands at 300x450x375. However, a revised design utilizing linear rails could potentially increase this volume due to an enhanced degree of movement in the proximal arm. Update: If you plan on printing out this design, please note that the rolling wheels are not standard ones typically used on H-Bots or similar machines. Instead, they feature small wheels with half-sized bearings. If these wheels are not available, the "carts" will not fit correctly on the extrusions. The specific type of wheel I used can be found here - https://goo.gl/F5QXAF. Progress milestones include movement functionality, X/Y Homing + Z Axis calibration, and a successful first print.
