This is a secure access control device housed within a box and lid, featuring cutting-edge technology. Inside, you'll find: 1. A Wemos D1 mini microcontroller, equipped with ESP8266 Wifi capabilities. 2. An RFID-RC522 reader/writer, expertly mounted in the lid for seamless operation. 3. A motion detector "radar" circuit built around a RCML-0516 component, ensuring sensitive security. 4. A high-quality microswitch that triggers an alarm through the microcontroller if the lid is tampered with or removed (20 mm length). 5. Two user-friendly LEDs mounted in the lid for instant visual feedback, such as ACCESS granted or denied. When it comes to programming this innovative device, we utilize micropython due to the ESP8266's impressive processing speed and our preference for straightforward simplicity, eliminating the need for compiling code before deployment. Security is paramount, so rest assured that no data is ever stored on the device. Its sole purpose is to communicate with a designated endpoint, transmitting the UID of the RFID card/keyring and a subset of its memory. Upon granting access, a one-time password will be written to the keycard/keyring, allowing users to enter or exit securely. Even if someone were to obtain the box and attempt to reverse-engineer the source code, they would be unable to gain unauthorized access to restricted areas. As for 3D printing, we're currently utilizing an online service until our family members are convinced that a personal printer is a worthwhile investment. **Update** After receiving feedback from the online 3D printing company, it was discovered that the original STL file had significant flaws. To rectify this issue, we redesigned and re-tested the model using both CURA and Slic3r to ensure its printability. As of now, the updated design is available, replacing outdated files with the latest version.
