Miletus (Turkey); From 1905 excavations, Finds Division: Marble, 540 - 520 BC The head was draped with a veil characteristic of women in Miletus art. The original was defaced and replaced by another face for reuse purposes. On the right front side, next to the seated figure's legs, a rough inscription reads ARTE(mis). This object is part of "Scan The World".
