This is an intriguing marble sculpture depicting an enigmatic woman seated on a majestic box-shaped throne, once an integral part of the Goths' Wall in Miletus, Turkey. The throne's ancient design echoes models from the Near East, underscoring the woman's exalted social standing. On the right side of the throne, remnants of a votive inscription remain, which was deliberately erased in antiquity likely due to its reuse as a grave monument.
