Miletus (Turkey); from the excavation findings of 1906; marble, dating back to 540 - 520 BC. A new head was attached after it suffered damage, possibly in 494 BC when Miletus fell to the Persians. The votive statue may have been reused as a grave marker, with remnants of lead used to plug holes and secure it in place. Clamp marks on the rear indicate its later use within an antique wall. This object is part of "Scan The World", a global digital archive created by MyMiniFactory's non-profit initiative.
