Ennio Quirino Visconti was a renowned Italian antiquarian and art historian born on November 1, 1751. He passed away on February 7, 1818. As the papal Prefect of Antiquities, he was the leading authority in ancient Roman sculpture during his time. His son, Pietro Ercole Visconti, compiled "Versi di Ennio Quirino Visconti" under his care. Louis Visconti became a distinguished architect in France. Ennio's brother, Filippo Aurelio Visconti, who died in 1830, was also a classical scholar and published the Museo Chiaramonti, succeeding the Museo Pio-Clementino. This object is part of "Scan The World".
