Enn'llien SteamTank (EGA Siege tower) miniature for RPG
thingiverse
In a Pathfinder RPG campaign, I'm playing a Half-elf Gunsligner/gunsmith and inventor named Enn'll Nothridge who's life work is to create a series of steam powered medieval mobile artillery (in other words, tanks) which are named after him. This one is RIDICULOUS, (TLDR after this paragraph..) Basically I thought siege towers were created in a town and moved to the battlefield, but I was wrong, siege towers are made on site and are abandoned after, they are disposable... so my idea of saving time and effort by making it mobile is pointless: -it's made on site out of wood harvested also on site, a steam powered one does not help the army transport it effortlessly, it's cheap and disposable so making it though and reusable at the cost of a huge fortune is creating a problem to solve a problem that doesn't exist and since sieges last for months before the last attack, the army have literally no better to do then to make wooden towers, no need for a premade one... (plus it needs specialized workers to drive and maintain and has a high operation cost...) (TLDR a siege tower tank is dumb because it has 0 strategic use or advantages over the old design) But the idea seems cool so I decided screw it! I'll make it anyway! and since it's gonna be dumb lets make it SUPER DUMB! and added a building floor to it! I guess now you can use it as a commando all-in-one-good-at-nothing transport for extremely high level adventurers, basically a full guild hall on wheels complete with real bedrooms, a well protected metal structure with 2 front cannons for good measure, and a collapsible siege tower that can be adjusted for different heights of fortification, which also has a balista on the top level, for whenever you get hired to raid a necromancer's fortress I guess... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ANYWAY! It is from my "Engines of the Golden Age" series, which my character should build in his epilogue after the end of the campaign, when he is Headmaster of his own university... (or maybe not that particular model because it's stupid...) and it's name is the "Citadel of Spite". This series of tanks is made on a new base that is a lot bigger than my past models, yet they are still at the same scale. Many parts were resized (bigger body, boiler, pistons etc...) or duplicated for better support (support wheels, drive wheels, suspension, roof pillars...) The white patch in the photos are pieces of paper I cut and glue to the side of the siege tower collapsible sections to help the structure. The rail stopper part goes under the rails in the floors 2 to 6 of the tower. each tower section need a good sanding inside and out for them to slide freely in one-another. BASIC PRINTING INSTRUCTION FOR EACH PART ARE IN THEIR NAME FOLLOWING THIS LOGIC: [model name (base if common to most][part name][helpful assembly info, mostly left or right][ (need support) if needed][how many are needed if more then 1] Unlike my other models, tanks in this series have no chain on their wheels so no need to add ropes on them, the support wheels are now all aligned to touch the ground for more support and it can't realistically go over harsh terrain anyway. You can however add a string to connect each side of the front axle to the direction pulley under the tank. To avoid overcrowding the table during play, the models aren't to scale with 30mm miniatures, they are scaled down to 1:88 (a normal 176cm person next to the model would be 2cm high, I've just saved you the trouble of calculating that if you were wondering ;p )
