Thwacking the ball generates a vibration that triggers an electric current through the LED, which currently falls short of lighting it up. Nevertheless, with a few tweaks, this device may produce sufficient illumination. If successful, similar geometries could be used in various applications, such as illuminating the tassels on traditional Mexican jackets or adding accents to Full Metal Jackets. The original concept even suggested using it to light a printer bed in motion. However, significant improvements are needed, including more coils and increased motion time, along with a 3D-printed iron core for the thwacker. I'll be working on refining this design soon, but feel free to take it on yourself if you're interested.
