Enlarged Rostock Carriage V1.2 for 12mm smooth rod
thingiverse
The modified Rostock Carriage by Jcrocholl features a belt-tensioning device and utilizes 12x1000mm smooth rods with KB-12-WW Linear Bearings, which are securely clipped. To minimize play, the bearing holder angles have been adjusted to 0.10°. The groove design has also been improved for easier fabrication. The belt mount is a T2.5 self-locking design based on Okatake's belt_coupler_v6 and features slight updates for better printing. This carriage has been successfully built at the Artilect FabLab Toulouse using a Prusa printer with a 0.25mm layer height for accurate T2.5 belt grooves. The recommended fill density is 0.2, as 0.1 may be too light. The 0.1° angles on the bearings provide no play and smooth movement, while the tensioner works well but still requires refinement, particularly in the smaller part's appearance.
