Source materials used in this project can be viewed here. Situated in the arid terrain of Dobrogea, close to the rich biodiversity of the Danube Delta, Enisala fortress boasts a strategic location atop an elevation of 116 meters. Commanding a panoramic view of potential enemy troop movements on both sea and land, Enisala held a pivotal political and commercial position from its inception as one of the primary Genovese colonies in the Black Sea region. Its architectural design also underscores its initial military significance, featuring defensive towers along three sides, with five still preserved today. The distinctive oriental style bastion adorning the main gate further enhances its unique architectural features. Photogrammetry was conducted using a combination of Phantom4 and ContextCapture software, based on 119 high-resolution photographs.
