Enhanced Anet A8 X-Axis Belt Tensioner

Enhanced Anet A8 X-Axis Belt Tensioner

I designed this upgrade based on the Improved Anet A8 RepRap X-Axis Belt Tensioner by WedgeSD, but it won't work with the stock Anet belt and won't fit into an IKEA Lack Table enclosure. To make it work, you'll need just a few parts: - 1 M3x30 screw - 2 M3 nuts - 5 M5 washers instead of a pulley - No belt upgrade is necessary - A metal cylinder with a diameter of 5mm and a height of 8mm (see EDIT below) I carefully designed the parts to fit exactly in place, but some sanding and lubrication (PTFE) were needed to get it working properly. With this upgrade, the printer should easily fit into an IKEA Lack table enclosure. EDIT: After using this design for a few months, I took it apart and found that the washers had almost completely chewed through the plastic axis. To avoid this issue in the future, I strongly advise using a metal axis. To make this work, I used a 5mm diameter screw and bent it down to the required length of 8mm.
