Trotec has designed a stunning Christmas card, carefully crafted by our skilled staff using our Speedy 300 Laser CO2 Cutter. Hand-drawn snowflakes were expertly photographed and imported into CorelDraw for vectorization, before being engraved onto the card. This thoughtful idea is perfect for the holiday season! How I Created This Step 1: Draw Your Design Feel free to create any design you like, as long as it's drawn with a thick marker or pencil on white paper. We chose to draw intricate snowflakes. Step 2: Vectorize Your Photo Import your drawing into a vector-based software like CorelDraw. We used this program to bring our snowflakes to life. Step 3: Convert to Black and White To achieve the desired effect, go to Bitmaps > Mode > Black and White in CorelDraw. Use the Line Art Method and adjust the threshold to only see the black snowflakes. Step 4: Vectorize the Design Click on Trace Bitmap, Outline Trace, and select the Line Art option in CorelDraw. Then, delete any unnecessary elements. Step 5: Set Your Options Right-click on the RGB red layer and left-click on no-fill. Adjust the red outline to hairline thickness so it cuts smoothly with the laser. Step 6: Duplicate the Image Copy and paste your design to spread it around the card. Step 7: Create a Fold Line Designate a hairline thickness for the fold line, which will be adjusted when sent to the laser. Decrease the power to 5% with 2 speed. Step 8: Outline and Content Create a red outline box (hairline thickness) to cut out the design, then add black text to engrave. Step 9: Send Your Design to the Laser Click print in CorelDraw. Engrave at 100 speed and 45 power, cut at 2 speed and 40 power, and set the fold line to 2 speed and 5 power. Now it's done! Don't forget to send your beautiful card to someone special this holiday season!
