Engrave depth gauge
thingiverse
Laser engrave depth gauge for precision cutting. It's used to accurately measure laser-engraved depths based on speed and power settings. Here are my findings so far: Different materials call for distinct engraving parameters, and I've noticed that text and part-cutting require consistent speeds and powers across all processes. The square box test involves engraving a box at varying speeds and powers while logging the results below it, which has helped me develop a baseline understanding of my machine's capabilities. Given its 150-watt capacity, I express all readings as percentages of 150 watts for consistency. A big enough test area allows me to use calipers to take precise depth measurements. After saving each sample, I place them in individual plastic pockets within a protective book cover, making it easy to review later and compare results for burn marks, cut quality, and overall performance.
