English Flag (of St George)
thingiverse
After creating the Welsh flag, I decided to produce the remaining flags of the UK, so here is the English (St George) one. A straightforward method was used, employing a plan view to create the base, into which was cut the cross, the edges of which were then offset by 0.1mm for clearance between adjacent and mating pieces of PLA. When printed, cleaned up, and assembled together, they fit perfectly. The size of 75x50mm is ideal for a fridge magnet or even as a single-sided key fob (the reverse side can be used for identification etc). Instead of using superglue due to the white marks it leaves behind from its vapors when curing, an alternative would be a clear and thinly-spreadable resinous-type glue such as E6000, Unibond, flexible glue, or a clear contact glue. Polystyrene cement can also be used with caution.
