One of the most ambitious projects ever undertaken culminates in this, the 3rd generation engine model, with every product designed previously contributing to its knowledge base. The powertrain was created from scratch within an estimated timespan of 80 hours, drawing inspiration from today's 1.6 liter Formula 1 engines. These engines measure 80mm bore and 53mm stroke, boasting a calculated compression ratio equal to 13:1 alongside a total capacity of 1598cc. This innovative setup allows for high revving characteristics, enabling the engine to achieve peak power at a high RPM range. Key parameters include DOHC, 24 valves (4 per cylinder), 6 cylinders arranged in a V with a 90° angle, and a 4-stroke combustion engine with direct injection weighing in at 99.93 kg. Every component was designed meticulously with exceptional attention to detail, allowing for adjustability and reconfiguration if necessary. Engine block cooling ducts were created to enable the implementation of a water-based cooling system, while the block itself is designed around forged aluminium pistons, connecting rods, and crankshaft. The cylinder heads required extensive preparation, consuming most of the project's time, and are constructed from all necessary components, including valves, spark plugs, gaskets, cams, coil plugs, and injectors. All measurements were thoroughly analyzed to ensure experimental manufacture and reliable operation. Aluminium was allocated for components such as the engine block, cylinder head housing, and pistons, while steel constructed parts include bolts, engine studs, and washers. Furthermore, gear ratio analysis and mathematical calculus were conducted for the timing belt design. This project showcases ingenuity and dedication, extending computer-aided design experience to future applications within the automotive industry.
