Engine Case Preparation and Installation Inspect the engine case for any damage or debris before installation. Clean the case thoroughly to prevent any contamination from entering the new engine. Remove any existing components such as bearings, seals, and gaskets. Inspect all mating surfaces for scratches or other damage that could compromise a seal. Replace any damaged parts with new ones of the correct type and size. Next, apply a thin layer of assembly lubricant to the engine case surfaces where they will make contact with the crankshaft and camshaft bearings. Install the bearings into their respective locations in the engine case, making sure they are properly seated and aligned. Apply a bead of sealant around the perimeter of each bearing to prevent oil leaks. Once all bearings are installed, install the crankshaft and camshaft into their respective locations in the engine case. Make sure both shafts are properly seated and aligned with the bearings. Install any additional components such as timing gears or balancer shafts according to the manufacturer's instructions. Finally, apply a thin layer of assembly lubricant to the mating surfaces of the engine case and cylinder block or other components that will be making contact with it. Assemble all components together, ensuring everything is properly aligned and secured according to the manufacturer's specifications.
