Engine Block Bookcase

Engine Block Bookcase

Awesome bookcase for mechanics to check out! Created from a CAD file taken directly from the Ford Engine Block (link below). The original 6 cylinder engine block was printed to an impressive height of 78mm. To build this product, you should stop printing at around 77-80mm in height. Borrowed fan parts came straight from the Toyota Engine CAD (link below). The bookcase rings and fan axle were crafted personally by yours truly. The Ford Engine Block was created in Orange PLA plastic and required a significant 20-25 hours to print on my trusty TAZ 4 3D printer at a 3mm layer height and speed of 120mm/s. The same setup produced the fan and bookcase ratings in ABS, completing the task in just one night. Assembly requires careful handling with a hot glue gun; exercise caution around any fumes as it does slightly melt PLA plastic! Work in well-ventilated areas with eye protection on at all times to ensure a safe build process.
