Engine access panel knob for Beat PP1 kei car
thingiverse
Want some kickass knobs for your engine bay? here you go. Designed to fit perfectly in the recesses of the stock access panel. This general process is what I use to add white-on-black Logos and text to any of my prints (Shift knob, coilover dust cover, etc) What you need: 4 printed knobs M6x1-12 flanged hex head bolt (https://www.mcmaster.com/90166A144/) White filler epoxy (I prefer Mohawk's white Epoxy Putty stick) Epoxy adhesive (I prefer West System G/flex 655) Sandpaper: 220, 400, 800, and 1500 (Add 3000 and up if you want a more gloss finish) * Print the knobs and remove any support * Sand with 220 grit until there are no filament gaps visible * Mix and fill in your white filler epoxy, pressing into the gap left for the H logo. * Sand again with 220 grit until the logo becomes visible and you remove all excess filler * Increase in grit to 400, 800, and 1500 (or beyond) until the finish is to your taste * Apply a bit of mixed adhesive to all 'interior' surfaces on the knob * press in the bolt, making sure to squeeze out any air bubble. The metal flange should sit sub-flush to the outer plastic ring of the boss * Smooth out any excess adhesive *Allow to cure *Enjoy
