Enervinn's 100% printed Spool Holder
pinshape
Hello Everyone. Recently I bought my first 3D printer, and I'm loving everything I make with it. Something I really didn't like was the spool holder provided by the manufacturer, so I decided to built my own. As in my country filament rolls are sold in very different packages, a lot of them won't fit en the original holder, so the most simple solution was to avoid using the center hole at all. My solution is a fully 3D printable spool holder, which consists on 4 608 equivalent bearings (slightly modified to better fit in the holder), 2 stands (you just need to print 2 of the same) and 2 rollers. After printing all the parts, mounting it just takes about a minute or less. You'll only need to add 2 toothpicks to keep everything in place. It's a really simple solution. For the different pieces, I decided on the following printing setting, slicing with CURA: 1- Materials for all pieces is PLA 2- Printing orientations can be found in the images. 3- 608 Bearing: 0.2 [mm] Layer Height 0.8 [mm] (so four layers) top, bottom and perimeter surfaces 20% Infill (whatever shape you want to use, it doesn't really has a lot of infill) No support needed (After printing the bearings, just use a small screwdriver to separate the rollers from the external and internal bodies. The bearing was designed to be made in one single print and for the rollers and bodies to not touch, but in order to maintaing some kind of fit between the parts, the design separation may be just in the printer margin of error, so the parts could be slightly glued after the print) 4- Roller: 0.3 [mm] Layer Height 1.5 [mm] (so five layers) top, bottom and perimeter surfaces 50% Infill (I used Gyroid, but you may like honeycomb or grid better. Just don't use concentric) Touching bed support is needed, 15% infill and concentric shape will suffice your needs 5- Roller's stand:0.2 [mm] Layer Height 1.2 [mm] (so four layers) top, bottom and perimeter surfaces 30% Infill (I used Grid but you may like any other) No support needed, just remember to orient the piece resting on the bed with the two protuberances pointing up I hope you enjoy this part, and that it proves usefull to you. Have a nice day
