endstop switch mount
thingiverse
This is a bracket designed specifically for mounting a micro endstop switch to an 8mm smooth rod. Originally, I had intended to use this style of mount for the z axis but ended up using it on the x axis instead because it worked so well. The tiny switches (seen in the image above) have dimensions of approximately 13mm long by 5.8mm wide by 6.2mm tall. To ensure a print without support material, I divided this bracket into three pieces, making assembly straightforward. Use two 3mm x 10mm bolts to secure the switch receiver piece to the main body of the bracket (alternatively, you can glue these together with epoxy as they won't need to be separated again) and four 3mm x 20mm bolts to capture the cap/saddle around the smooth rod. I've found this approach creates a solid connection, with no slippage yet experienced.
