Endoscope Holder for Rostock Max V2
thingiverse
This small endoscope/borescope holder fits perfectly onto the Rostock Max V2 printer, which has been upgraded with a powerful 713Maker aluminum effector plate that supports ball cup joints. It's highly likely to work with other effector plates as well. The tab slot will slide smoothly into one of the three tabs on the effector plate, typically used for holding layer cooling fans. The vertical distance from the bottom of the tab slot - identical to the bottom of the effector plate - to the lowest point of the tube measures 13.25mm. This means that the tip of the nozzle needs to extend just over 13.25mm below the bottom surface of the effector plate so that the holder can clear the print area. The tube is carefully angled 10 degrees downward from horizontal toward the nozzle, ensuring a precise fit. You won't find any pre-drilled holes for fastening the holder to the effector plate tab - simply drill one that suits your specific setup requirements. Two important dimensions are worth noting: Tube diameter: As printed, the tube measures 7.75mm in diameter. If this is too small, you can easily drill it out a bit more; the walls are a sturdy 1.4mm thick. On the other hand, if it's too big, you can cut a slot along the length of the tube and use a twist-tie or similar to compress it. Slot dimensions: The printed slot measures 8.25mm in width, 2.0mm in depth, and 15.5mm in length. Here are the print settings: Nozzle: Use a 0.25mm nozzle for optimal results. Line width: Set the line width to 0.20mm for precise prints. Layer height: Opt for a layer height of 0.15mm for excellent detail. Printing speed: Print at a rate of 30mm/s for fast and efficient production. Infill: Use 100% infill, although less will still yield good results; support is not necessary. Position the unit so that the wide part - the exit end of the tube and slot - is on the plate. Printing time is approximately 50 minutes. You can use PLA for this project, but ABS may be a better choice if your setup produces significant heat near the holder.
