Endmill holder/carrying case
thingiverse
This is a portable endmill carrying case designed for the Pumping Station One hackerspace in Chicago. Its primary function allows users to easily transport their personal endmills to the cold metals work area and use them on the bridgeport mill, greatly increasing convenience by eliminating the need to store tools in separate containers. The compact size of the case is roughly equivalent to a pack of crayons. The holder itself can accommodate endmills up to 3 inches in length. Inserts serve two main purposes: first, they position shorter endmills at an elevated height, ensuring all endmills are equal in length within the case; second, they protrude from the bottom, allowing users to push out any wedged-in endmill. Versions: V1.1 introduces support for 1/4 x 2", 1/4 x 3", 3/8 x 2", 3/8 x 3", and 1/2 x 2.5" endmills, requiring the printing of specific inserts for each length. V1.0 provides compatibility with two 1/4" x 2.5" endmills, two 3/8" x 2.5" endmills, and a single 1/2" x 3" endmill. To print this version, users must print one base, one top, two insert-0.25OD, two insert-0.375OD, and one insert-0.5OD.
