Endless Column (after Brancusi)
thingiverse
The 123D Catch scan of the North Lion from the Art Institute of Chicago led to the creation of modular artwork pieces. Each module can be printed without support structures, but may appear untidy on the underside due to their absence. The sculpture is designed to stack up to twenty modules high; however, stability issues arise after approximately ten modules. To address this problem, I am developing a "Flion Buttressing" solution, which will be released as a separate design once time permits prototyping. In the meantime, if someone else wants to implement buttressing, it should connect to the bolts embedded in the lion's shoulders.
