Ender3 V2 Octoprint Console (spare phone)
thingiverse
I had an old Android phone lying around and wanted to use it for controlling Octoprint. What to do: 1. Find any case for your old phone and print it. 2. Print the the STL in this Thing. 3. Glue the Thing onto the back of your case like in the picture (I used Krazy glue). Obviously, its a good idea to try out the fit of your case/phone/pegs onto the mount you will use before gluing since you may need to offset the pegs a bit depending on the size of your phone. There are a few good apps available for Octoprint, just install your favourite. Two that I tried and liked: *OctoApp for OctoPrint - Easy and Fast Printing* My favourite UI, even if it shows the webcam feed (will be configurable next version). Free. *OctoRemote for OctoPrint* Has dark mode, very stable, totally free, fully functional My phone settings (to make it work like a console) - Disabled the security unlock pin/pattern - Disabled screen lock - Enabled screen saver - Enabled Double-Tap-to-Wake If your phone can't disable the above and you really want to make it console-like, go ahead and try: Printoid: The OctoPrint app [LITE]: Sleek UI, and has features to keep your phone on without changing phone settings, but it's crippleware and premium version is much too expensive IMHO. I still wanted to keep the old LCD, so I moved it to the other side with the help of: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4708037 For a more compact printer footprint, I'm planning to eventually mount it on this (or something similar): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4717588
