Ender3 Left-hand Control Box with SD Card Reader Mount
thingiverse
This is a remix of Takayuki-Mano's Ender3 ControlBox (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3313967) - Huge thanks for including the STEP files!\r\n\r\nI mirrored both sides so it can be mounted on the left side of the Ender3, making it much easier for southpaws to use.\r\n\r\nI also made a variant that supports an SD card reader with a snap-on bracket holding it firmly in place, though friction works just as well. I extended the cable cutout at the bottom to accommodate the ribbon cable's width on the card read.\r\n\r\nYou will need 4 M3x6mm bolts and nuts to attach the t-slot bars securely.\r\n\r\nI bought the SD card reader from Amazon; "TF Micro SD to SD Card Extension Cable Adapter Flexible Extender for Car GPS". I removed the black casing easily without damaging it, so you can put it back if needed later.\r\n\r\nMy final version is still printing after several prototypes, so I'll add photos soon.\r\n\r\nI plan to add cable management inside because the card reader has a 47cm (18.5") long ribbon cable, plus there's plenty of slack from that cable with the control near the motherboard.\r\n\r\nI'm working on designing a protective cover to shield the micro-card insert on the motherboard safely.
