Ender3 / Ender3-Pro / CR-10 / Euclid Probe Mount & Dock
thingiverse
Ender3 mount and Y-carraige plate mounted dock for Euclid Probe. Also applicable to Ender3Pro, Ender3-V2, CR-10, etc... (this does not fit Ender5, see our other repo). Euclid probe is the the most reliable detachable micro-switch probe, unaffected by chamber temps, bed temps, bed materials, magnetism or EM interference. Accuracy and standard of deviations are 1/10 of other probe schemes and sub 0.0012mm. Euclid Probe is THE reliable alternative to BLTouch and its imitations. The toolboard mount secures to the X-carriage plate using the M3 screws that secure the hotend fan cover. An altenate version is provided using the M5 roller screw so the mount stays on when servicing the hotend. Due to the different production variations, longer M3 screws may be required (M3x8 minimum length). The probe dock is provided in 2 parts and designed to be hard mounted to the front left corner of the Y-carriage plate. The dock mount is designed to use 1/2″ diam x 1/2″ high spacers to elevate the bed the nominal 15mm above the carrier. These spacers are commonly available at hardware stores and big box stores (links below). The spacers would go under the Rear Left cable management shield and between the dock mount and the bed. Use the original handwheels to tighten the stack. Adjust the height of the dock as needed to compensate for the print bed materials. Thin cardboard or fiber washers, silicone orings, or sheet gasket material will help insulate the spacers from the heated bed if higher temp service is required. Adjust the height of the Z-Endstop as well. Links to adjustable endstop holder below. Install one 1/2" spacer under the cable-chain support at the back left location, no riser. Print out 2 of the spacer risers and use them under the front-right and rear-right bed mount screws. You may need to adjust the Z-endstop due to spacer installation (see our other Ender3 mods here on Thingiverse). It may seem counter-intutiive, but the notoin is to double nut the countersunk M4 flathead screw to the bed. - Insert an M4 nut in the hex hole in the spacer. - Put the spacer so that the clearance hole is at the top, allowing free rotation around the nut under the bed plate. - Then run the 5 lobed spacer up the screw, then lower it a full 2 turns from the nut. - Use the handwheel nut to draw the screw tight against the spacer/nut assembly. - Further vertical adjustment is accomplished bu loosening/tightening the 5-lobed nut spacer and the handwheel. Attached video shows probe deployment and stow for a single bed-tramming point using Marlin. https://youtu.be/5JAbxNBJOII EDIT 09/28/2021: the mount has been revised to lower the toolhead ~5mm on account of the Ender3 github model not including the gap between the heatblock and heatsink. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have casued.
