The backplate is to increase the mechanical stiffnes of the x-axis. In addition it lets you mount 2x 5015 radial fans and a fanduct for increased colling performance. The fan duct is designed to allow laminar air flow parallel to the heatbed and thus carry away the heat from the upper layers of the printed parts. Also, you can mount a ADXL345 breakout board for Klipper input shaper tuning. The parts are designed for BMG wind with E3D volcano heatblock. The vertical distance between the hotend mounting hole on the x-axis plate and the nozzle is 63.8mm, thus any hotend with similar length should work as well. Tips: Print the fanducts as shown in the image.
